Carimate lies in the heart of Brianza, just 27 kilometres far from Milan, set in the green woods which have for centuries offered welcome shade to those fleeing the city on hot Summer days.  The Carimate Golf Club is situated on the estate surrounding a large medieval castle which still stands today. Founded in 1960, the course was designed by Piero Mancinelli. It wends its way huge rhododendron bushes alternated with age-old majestic oaks flanking the course. It is an 18-hole course with no special difficulties for the average golfer; beginners will be relieved to hear  there is only one stream. The club has also 3 tennis courts, two of which are indoor. On Sundays and Saturdays, barbecues are held round the swimming pool. The club house was designed by Vico Magistretti.
