This section of the Adriatic Coast is one of the most popular and entertaining along the whole Mediterranean basin. The reputation of Cesenatico, Riccione and especially Milano Marittima has spread abroad and this course should logically be an extra attraction for people who prefer the more sporting style of holiday. Let's not forget either nearby Ravenna, whose monuments and mosaics feature amongst the world's treasures. Spread over flat terrain amidst both pine trees and sandy dunes, this layout comprises 9 holes with the features of a real link course but then a slight American flavour over the other nine, all devoid of the raw brutality of a Scottish links. In 2004, an additional 9 holes (designed by Baldovino Dassù amd Alvise Rossi Fioravanti) bought with them an alternative to form a different full course. The wind can often stiffen the challenge but Cervia remains a very pleasant course to play, especially since all the hazards are in play but never dissuasive.
