Opened in 1926, the course has been successively reshaped by Donald Harridine and Cabell Rosinson, who added several lakes to the existing river Magliasina but were not allowed to lengthen the course owing to lack of space. The greens are nonetheless well defended, which may cut short any desire to go for the performance. You don't need to play this very honest course ten times to understand what it is about, because you will have a clear vision of the best strategy. The vegetation reduces the impression of up and down holes suggested by the layout, and forces long-hitters to fade or draw the ball to get a good approach into the green. Good and not so good players can get along well together here, where lack of precision is offset by short yardage. In a very pleasant setting and wonderful region, thi si s a good holiday course.
