Jim Fazio designed this course over former vineyards in the region of Bardolino. The sloping terrain, together with the type of soil and lie of the land formed a great foundation for golf and no-one is complaining. Lake Garda and Mount Baldo from a theatrical setting for this carefully landscaped course whose natural features have been deliberately protected as far as possible. A few stretches of water and lakes add a little spice to almost a dozen holes, enough to stir you from the balmy insouciance inspired by the very Italian style elegance that abounds here. Two of the prettiest holes are the 17^th, a short par 4 that the more gung-ho golfer will attempt to drive, and the 18^th, equally tempting, over a glass or two of Bardolino, of course.
